Proferi, a Redwood City startup that aims to develop cloud-based analytical applications for large businesses, has raised $6.3 million in Series A financing led by Greylock Partners, with participation from Andreessen Horowitz and Dave Duffield, co-founder and co-CEO of Workday. Aneel Bhusri, co-CEO at Workday and a partner at Greylock, and Ben Horowitz, a partner at Andreessen Horowitz, have joined Proferi’s board of directors. Proferi’s CEO is co-founder Christian Gheorghe, who was previously chief technical officer at SAP and Experian and also a co-founder of two companies, Saxe Marketing and Tian Software, both of which were acquired.
